Glass Sand — FAQs

What purity is glass grade silica sand?

Our glass grade silica sand is 99.5%+ SiO₂ with Fe₂O₃ (iron oxide) below 0.02%, giving crystal-clear glass.

Why is low iron content important for glass?

Iron oxide adds a green/brown tint to glass. Keeping Fe₂O₃ below 0.02% keeps the glass clear.

What types of glass can this sand be used for?

Container glass (bottles, jars), flat glass (windows, mirrors) and specialty/optical glass.
